Chardonnay "The Agnes" 2022

Agnès Chardonnay is named after their great-grandmother, Agnès Floyd, who arrived in South Africa at the tender age of 14. Robust in constitution and strong-willed in character, she is reputed to have been the first lady to obtain a driver's license in Cape Town. This blend from several vineyards is designed to reflect Agnès’s resilience and strength, with each vineyard contributing to the complexity of the final wine.

Sourced from selected vineyards in the Hemel-en-Aarde and Overberg regions. Produced using the traditional method of transferring whole grape bunches directly from the harvest into the press, then the juice is directed to the tank. Aged in 228- and 500-litre French oak barrels as well as foudres, where the wine remains for 9 months before bottling.
