Sangiovese, or Niellucciu in Corsica, when vinified as a single varietal, is the quintessential wine of great Tuscan vintages. From cultivation to vinification, it requires constant attention, but when crafted with brilliance, it produces the finest, most balanced wines capable of long aging.

Low yields and over-ripening of the berries are key factors in creating great wines. Sangiovese thrives on significant differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. It yields wines with typical aromas of black cherries and wild spices.

The tannins of Guissani Paoli wines are powerful, but the microclimatic distinctiveness and the terroir of Campo Maggiore enhance them, making them a palate jewel in perfect balance between astringency and velvet.

The Genoese understood this, and all wines from Patrimonio were primarily exported to Genoa to delight the Genoese nobility.
