Pessac-Léognan
Thursday, October 22, 2026 - 6:00 PM
Complementary to our regular workshops that provide an overview of a vineyard as a whole, the Connoisseur evenings focus on a single appellation to dissect its subtleties and go deeper.
For this tasting, we turn our attention to the whites of Pessac-Léognan, a unique signature in the Bordeaux landscape. The Sauvignon-Sémillon blend, richer and more textured than the zesty Sauvignon of the Loire, finds its balance on the Garonne gravel, which absorbs the day's heat and releases it at night, lending a saline, almost smoky minerality. Barrel aging with lees stirring adds a creamy texture without ever overpowering the fruit, all supported by an oceanic climate that preserves freshness, resulting in a rare aging potential for dry whites, which improve over 10 to 20 years, evolving toward notes of flint and beeswax.
Vinification, aging, exposure: nothing will be left out of this specialized blind tasting, designed for enthusiasts who want to go further in their quest for great wines and great evenings.
Price of the tasting workshop including three wines, appetizers, and service: $79 + taxes.
