SAQ Monsant Do Acustic 2022, Cellar Acustic
The sound of Garnacha
Montsant is one of those appellations that still offers great discoveries from serious estates. Advantageously situated around the renowned Priorat, for the last twenty years it has benefited from the generosity of great producers, as well as the momentum of young winemakers who can afford the foothills rather than the mountain.
Less than 200 km from Barcelona, this young appellation (DO status in 2001) is home to the Marçà estate and its Acustic project. We are dealing with a 42-hectare vineyard (owned) dedicated to variations of Garnacha in both red and white. This cuvée is made from old vines (40 to 80 years old) planted at altitude on clay, pebbles, and sand. The predominantly Garnacha grapes provide structure and character, while Macabeo and Pansal bring finesse and fruit.
Aging on lees for seven months in stainless steel, large casks, and amphorae adds complexity and texture while maintaining a summery freshness and liveliness. Another beautiful product that you won't hesitate to serve at various tables during the holidays.
