Aligoté of beautiful encounters

Aligoté is often judged by the merchants who mistreated it in the past. For the younger generation, suffice it to say that Bichot was to Aligoté what Duboeuf was to Gamay: a salvational catastrophe...

For the older generation, there is no shame in presenting this high-caliber Aligoté in an affordable package. Indeed, this Maréchaux (a plot in the plains of Puligny) comes from old vines on clay soil. With ten months of aging, it still retains a surprising mineral structure and signals a wine that can be cellared for a few years.

A fusion of two estates, one in Meursault and the other in Puligny, this 15-hectare house has been perfecting its craft for 7 generations, and you will feel right at home with the classic shellfish and lemon profile found on the nose and palate. Oh, the sweet pangs of nostalgia...

·         To pair it with: A lobster with butter prepared with more care than a day at the branch...

·         For the record: This plot has been newly brought to market by the house, which previously produced its Aligoté from 'les petits poiriers,' where the vines have since been replanted.

·         For fun: If there’s any left at a branch near you, we mentioned it a few pages back: Aligoté de Muraten saq (14263485)
